It’s great fun.

A lot of TV shows are currently winding down for their summer break, while others are starting up again.
Dexter, however, won’t be showing until this autumn when season 6 hits the small screen.
Showtime have already started promoting it with this teaser:
The video cannot be shown at the moment. Please try again later.
The Tree of Life has won this year’s Palme d’Or at Cannes.
The award was announced a short time ago. See footage from Canal+ (in French)

With the Planet of the Apes franchise due to get a “reboot” later this year with the release of Rise of Planet of the Apes I thought it would be interesting to look at the trailer of both the 1968 version and the 2001 version.
The 1968 version starred Charlton Heston and went on to win an award from the Academy, though only got nominations for actual Oscars.
The 2001 version was directed by Tim Burton and starred Mark Wahlberg, Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter and Kris Kristofferson. It won several awards for makeup and special effects
So will the 2011 “reboot” spawn a full series of films, or will it just be a “one off” like the Tim Burton one?
I love boxsets. When they’re done properly they can be wonderful collectors’ items.
The Largo Winch boxset is pretty damn fine:
It’s got 3 bluray discs, which are both films and a special documentary. As you can see from the shot above there’s also a load of artwork that was done specially by Largo Winch’s artist Philippe Francq
