It looks like the next few months will see a lot of film releases that are set during the second world war or shortly afterwards.
This week’s releases in the US include Defiance, starring Daniel Craig, which is based on the true story of four brothers who rescued Jews in Poland. It’s accompanied by Good, starring Viggo Mortensen.
On general release on January 9th is The Reader, which is based on the novel by Schlink and deals with Germans coming to terms with the aftermath / legacy of The Holocaust.
Of course the biggest release is probably Tom Cruise‘s new vehicle – Valkyrie, which got its US release on December 25th.
