Irish film The Guard was a critical success before its general release in Ireland a few weeks ago.

It’s now proving that it can also be a box office success, with its current box office take heading towards topping 2 million Euro. According to the latest figures I’ve been able to find it was already on track to break the two million mark last week:

What’s interesting is that it’s doing very well against much bigger productions like Michael Bay’s Transformers Dark of the Moon. And don’t forget that Transformers Dark of the Moon is also out in 3D, which often means that ticket prices are higher.

It’s great to see an Irish film do so well!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the UK premiere of Transformers Dark of the Moon

Transformers Dark of the Moon goes on general release in the UK and Ireland this week and, as is common these days, it’s been showing in several cinemas since yesterday.

So we all know that Megan Fox has been replaced by Rosie Huntington Whiteley as the “belle” of the film.

But can Huntington-Whiteley fill the role of Shia LaBeouf’s love interest?
