Le Grand Bleu on BluRay

Luc Besson’s chef d’oeuvre, Le Grand Bleu (The Big Blue), is finally being released on Blu Ray by Gaumont next month.
Hopefully they have taken the time to enhance and restore both the print and the accompanying soundtrack.
Both Le Grand Bleu and Atlantis are films that should really “sing” on the high definition format, but it will be down to the studio to make this a reality.
If they skimp on the product quality it will be a great shame, as this film should be a joy to behold in high definition (I first saw it on 70 mm when it was first released!)
We’ll have to wait until the end of next month to find out and if there isn’t a US release date scheduled it may force me to get an EU region Blu Ray player at last.
