Willie Wonka 40th Anniversary Boxset

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

The original Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was released in 1971 – just over 40 years ago.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about the film and in many ways the Tim Burton remake is a lot better, though both versions have their merits.

In any case if you’re a fan you can now get a very tasty boxset for your collection

The boxset is pretty impressive, as it contains both blu-ray (1080p) and DVD versions of the original 1971 film, as well as an extra disc featuring a documentary.

There’s also a number of Willie Wonka collectibles and a colour booklet:

Harry Potter Wand Boxset

Comments Off 09 August 2011

Since the latest (and last) Harry Potter movie is still showing in cinemas it might be almost premature to be thinking about boxsets .. However it’s 2011, so we can pre-order DVDs and BluRay as soon as we get out of the cinema..

Here’s a particularly nice Harry Potter boxset (currently only available via Amazon France):

Marvel have put together a pretty slick promotional video (trailer?) for the upcoming blu ray and DVD release of Thor. It looks like they’re pushing both the extra features and some bonus material related to The Avengers, which goes on release next year.

The film gets its US release on Bluray and DVD on September 13th, while the UK and Ireland are slated to get it 2 weeks later

BluRay Trilogy Bargain – Back to the Future

Comments Off 13 June 2011

It’s not often that you can find a good trilogy boxset at a reasonable price.

Finding it on bluray is pretty much impossible.

However, for some odd reason, you can get the Back to the Future trilogy on blu-ray at the moment for only $14.99 (plus shipping)

That’s less than $5 / film (blu-ray), which is damn good and with the current Euro < > Dollar rates even when you add shipping fees it still works out to be cheap!
