Public Enemies Advertises Via Facebook Game

Public Enemies, starting Johnny Depp, is out now on BluRay and DVD.

Possibly the release date in the US market was later than that in Europe, as Mafia Wars, one of the more popular Facebook games, is running an ingame advertising promotion for the film.

When you login to Mafia Wars on Facebook at the moment you are greeted with the message below. And when you “win” any of the “loot” you get a quote from the film.

Will this lead to an improvement in sales?

While it might not be as slick as some “ingame” advertising it’s still interesting to see this kind of thinking.
