    I just swore outloud πŸ™

This is one series I’ve really loved. It’s way darker than is it the BBC’s ? Merlin which has a very comic feel but I still love. Seems almost like a cross between Merlin and Spartacus in terms of humour / blood / guts / nudity.

Really don’t understand some of the studios sometimes πŸ™ Firefly being a prime example

      James

How well did Firefly do in terms of viewing figures when it was first aired?

As for this decision from Starz – it’s quite odd, as you’d think that high viewing figures were the key deciding factor

I am from Australia, and have just watched the last episode of Season 1 Camelot- and I am devastated that there will not be a season 2! How could there not be? Absolutely shattered.

I could not agree more!!! They cancel the best of stuff and leave certain trash shows to continue!!! Ludicrousness!!!
Is it true that Nathan Fillon is trying to get funding for another Firefly movie!!!???

Finally a show that epics the story of Author in a way that keeps you gripped and excited and mortified and turned on and elated all in one. They ended it in such a way that the anticipation of series 2 was so high.
Yet there are reality shows on TV that make me cringe they are so pathetic. There are shows that have no value or slight stretch of the imagination but let’s cancel a show that clearly is successful worldwide!!!!!

      Unacceptable.

Possibly one thing they aren’t taking account of are piracy figures. O M G … but yes people will end up downloading these series as well. They need to start looking at digital options that yes people will spend money on. The amount I spend with Steam (games delivery system) is kinda crazy as it just makes things so easy. They make things easy for people to get online with a pay model they are going to start pulling in the money. Unfortunately they are pretty near sighted and just see online still as a piracy factor.

In the US you can subscribe to TV shows via iTunes, though I’m not sure if that’s free or paid, as it isn’t available as an option to Irish users πŸ™

AFAIK that is still rather pricey at 1.99 an episode ? you end up watching 10 shows a week thats 20 quid ker pow … on top of the fact you’re paying cable fees as well or something ? Renting 1 movie a week at 5 – 10 dollars / euro hey presto a lot of money they need a simple subscription based model where you get what you want when you want it. Now it possibly already exists and I’m just unaware of it but for the moment .. MEH!

        • Michele June 30, 2011 at 9:01 pm #

I’m not sure on pricing, but I *think* there are subscriptions ie. seasons, but as I said, I can’t check pricing easily πŸ™

I should add Fox screwed up the FireFly series by not showing the series in the correct order for some reason .. one of those what the **** were they thinking moments. It still got a movie afterwards so …

Being a fan of Merlin, this one didn’t attract my attention initially. But then I found out we’d have to wait till 2012 for season 4 of Merlin. So I thought I’d take a look at Camelot, and I’m happy to say, it grew on me. Now I’m totally disappointed that there won’t be a Season Two. What a bummer? I guess the studios have to make space for one more asinine reality show. Now I know why I won’t bother buying a telly or getting cable..

“2012” this is awful…. Merlin seems to be WEEKEST & SCAREST socerer I KNOW, Arthur IS a PUNK AN has a JELLY BACK, & Morgan needs to DIE!!! O yes Quiniver i think is pregenant from Arthur.

The BEST OF THE MOVIE FOR ME IS WHEN THE NUN DIES!!!

    Nooooooooooo!!! πŸ™
I am So addicted to this show! This is actually one of my all time favorites! This world can be so cruel sometimes…
PLEASE oh PLEASE let there be a season 2!!!! How can they leave us with that ending in the Finale and not make us a season 2?????? πŸ™

Yeah, it figures…I got into this show and they pulled it from under me by not filming season 2! Thanks Starz, you have added to my wallet because I’m cutting you out of my cable package!!!

First they decide to wreck spartacus with re-casting the main character but now they cancel camelot after a great premier season, i am officially FINISHED with starz, they screw up everything they touch it would appear, i mean first things first god forbid your leading actor gets cancer of some sort it could affect our filming schedule, then this camelot nonsense, its like telling people the start of a story and then deciding screw it, we wont tell you how it ends, pathetic, i hope the chairmen and women of starz choke on the profits they have made thus far as i will sure as hell not be following anything else they do.

While the plot in the first series had serious problems, i found myself eager for more at the last episode.

Would love to see more 2-3 seasons of Camelot, with a more adult Arthur and more sense of reality here and there.

Hope they get back to Camelot, its a mistake if they don’t.

    THEY CAN’T CANCEL IT!!!!!!
THEY LEFT IT ON A CLIFHANGER!!!!!!
    OMG…GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I am just hoping that now it’s being shown on channel 4 they will have more success with the series and change their minds!!!!

  12. chaucer01 August 10, 2011 at 12:57 pm #

cant believe they have done this and apparently not just this once, sounds to me like they need to be boycotted, perhaps that would change thier minds, if they had no viewers they would have to act

  13. Adam August 16, 2011 at 11:38 pm #

This is sad πŸ™ i really enoyed the series, and thought i’ll see when the season 2 premieres, to find out it’s cancelled. but i guess they make these decisions for a reason.

  14. diva August 18, 2011 at 2:18 am #

I’m annoyed I was looking toward to seeing season 2… Like WTF that sucks STARZ!!!!

  15. Tijn September 18, 2011 at 12:42 pm #

I really liked the idea of Camelot but after watching about 5 episodes I stopped watching it. Think its the first medieval show I have ever stopped watching.

Reason was I just hated Arthur. plus most of the acting was terrible, except Morgan, she was great.
