Christmas always sees the release of a few “family” films. A lot of them are mediocre at best, but there is always the odd gem that compensates for a lot of the junk that Hollywood likes to inflict on us.
Bedtime Stories is one of those gems.
While it’s a bit of a departure from Adam Sandlers’ previous vehicle, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, Sandler shows that he can still amuse while remaining “family friendly” (it’s a Disney production!).
Sandler plays Skeeter, a hotel handyman who ends up babysitting his sister’s kids for a few days while she goes for a job interview. To keep the kids amused he starts telling them imaginative bedtime stories. When the stories start coming true the results are hilarious.
The film is good fun and is one to watch out for on dvd ie. I’d quite happily watch it again.
